SCProbond™ Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide High-Performance Ceramics for Demanding Thermal Environments

Thermal processing environments place extreme demands on every component in the system. High service temperatures, aggressive chemical atmospheres, abrasive contact, and thermal cycling are conditions that eliminate most conventional materials from consideration. Silicon carbide sits at the top of the short list of materials that can reliably perform across all of these conditions simultaneously.

SCProbond™ Nitride Bonded Silicon Carbide is an engineered ceramic that exhibits a maximum continuous service temperature of 1525°C, high hardness approaching that of diamond, high strength that increases with thermal cycling, and excellent chemical, thermal shock, and wear resistance. These properties make it a proven choice across heat treatment, industrial process heating, power generation, mineral processing, and related high-temperature applications.

Thermal Shock Resistance

Withstands rapid temperature cycling without cracking or degrading. Critical for batch heat treatment operations, cyclic process heating, and applications with frequent temperature swings.

High Strength at Temperature

Unlike metals and most ceramics, SCProbond™ gains strength with thermal cycling. Load-bearing structural performance is maintained throughout the operating range, not lost to it.

Wear and Oxidation Resistance

Exceptional hardness approaching diamond resists abrasion and surface oxidation across the full service range. Components last significantly longer than traditional refractory and metal alternatives.

Chemical Stability

Chemically inert in most aggressive process environments including acids, alkalis, molten metals, and reactive atmospheres. A reliable choice where chemical attack degrades other materials.
